Physicians for Human Rights - Israel General Assembly, May 2012: President’s Speech
"A human rights organization is a political, radical organization by nature. We are political in that we want to bring about social change, shake the political structure which oppresses Palestinians in the Occupied Territory, and migrant workers, women, the elderly, refugees and other groups inside Israel. In our view, joining forces with the existing, oppressive, power structure necessarily prevents the much needed change."

They see them as infiltrators; I see them as refugees
What more must happen in Sinai for Israel to demand that Egypt stop firing on asylum seekers attempting to cross the border into Israel? What more must Israeli citizens hear in order to open their hearts and fences to people fleeing torture, rape and now, so it seems, even being murdered to steal their organs for transplant? Apparently quite a lot more - too much more. (Hadas Ziv, director of public outreach. photograph: Zaq, ActiveStills)
